Singapore is possibly the most family-friendly destination I have visited in Asia. A modern, clean and vibrant city with so much on offer for all ages. If you are planning to visit Singapore with kids, this guide will hopefully help you plan your trip.
We only visited Singapore on a long stopover for 5 days en route to Indonesia. However, I am definitely planning to go back to spend more time here.
Family things to do in Singapore
Night Safari
Grown ups and kids alike will love Singapore’s Night Safari. The world’s first nocturnal zoo and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore. Enjoy a fun tram ride whilst keeping your eyes peeled, look out for all the nocturnal animals roaming in their natural habitats. You will travel through rainforest, savannah and jungle, many of the animals here are are threatened species.
Sentosa Island
This island hosts many attractions all in one place. We jumped on the cable car over there to make the journey fun. You can also get there via taxi and metro, but the cable crossing offers fantastic views of the city so is an experience in itself. Once you arrive on Sentosa, there are a number of different attractions to choose from. I have listed some of our favourites below, but check out the Sentosa website to see them all.
Adventure cove waterpark
Zoom down the high-speed water slides and drift down a winding lazy river. You can also snorkel with 20,000 marine fish and wade with friendly rays in the shallows.
Fort Siloso Skywalk
Standing at 11 stories high and 181 meters long, check out Sentosa from above.
Siloso Beach
Chill off from the city heat and spend the day relaxing on Singapore’s beautiful beach.
Hydrodash floating aqua park
Climb, slide and bounce your way across this enormous floating obstacle course
IFly Singapore
The world’s largest themed inside wind tunnel
Madame Tussauds
Grab a selfie with your favourite wax celebrities. If you have visited any other Madame Tussauds (we have in London) it is very similar.
S.E.A Aquarium
Deep dive into an undersea world. a great choice for getting out of the heat or rain.
Sentosa 4D Adventure Park
4 different rides that bring the experience to life. The Haunted Mine Ride 4D, Extreme Log Ride. Shoot it out in Desperados, or get into the heart of the action with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Universal Studios
Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios Theme Park. Spend the day an adrenaline high with rides for all ages.
Trickeye @ Southside
We love visiting trickeye museums, they offer a great break from the heat and a fun experience for most ages
Gardens By The Bay
Spend the day just exploring the amazing grounds. Make sure you pack some swimmers as there’s a great water park! One of the best attractions here is the light show, twice daily at 7:45pm and 8:45pm and a must see for anyone visiting Singapore.
National Gallery
This was one of our favourite places in Singapore. Hosting the most extensive collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian art. There are also regular things going on daily from children’s crafts to artists exhibiting their talents.
We especially loved the rooftop which offered amazing views of the city skyline. Open daily from 10 am – 7 pm you can pre-book your tickets online, general admission costs around $15-$20
Changi Airport
Making the journey a destination in itself. It is probably one of the most impressive airports I have ever experienced. Pass the layover time by riding a 4 story slide, visiting the world’s tallest indoor waterfall or exploring Jewel; an indoor garden and shopping experience.
